Why I Joined RentReporters:
I moved to the United States in 2014, and in December of that year, I received my first credit card. I was not happy with the credit card, so I decided to close it. During this time, I was also shopping around to buy a house, and unfortunately, I did not know that canceling my credit card would negatively impact my credit score. In fact, my credit score plummeted by over 40 points, from 701 to 660!
With a credit score of 660, I knew that I would not receive a good deal from lenders. I had to find a way to increase my credit score, and when you’re fighting to improve your credit score, you’ll do almost anything. I spent considerable time doing online research and watching a lot of YouTube videos. And what I learned was that one of the most applicable solutions to improve your credit score was to report previous and ongoing rent payments. I knew that by doing this, it would help me build my positive credit history.
I tried a well-known rent reporting service, but the experience was not positive. After I signed up, they contacted my landlord, who informed me that the security questions were invasive and their customer service was less than friendly. So, I decided to find another company and came across RentReporters.
After Joining RentReporters:
With my subscription, I had RentReporters report my current, as well as previous year’s rent from January 2015 to February 2016. In the first month of joining, my credit score improved – and continued to improve. Now, my credit score is 705. As a result, I was able to shop around for good mortgage deals, and in July 2016, I closed on my mortgage! Thanks to RentReporters, I am now back on track.
My Experience with RentReporters:
It’s amazing how transparent RentReporters’ process was. I received an alert during each phase of rent reporting, and it was immediately reflected on my credit report. For me, what stands out the most is RentReporters’ customer service – for that, I give them a 10 out of 10. Based on my success with RentReporters, their amazing customer service, and their affordable solutions, I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to positively impact their credit scores.
